Ladbrokes Poker Background Profile
Ladbrokes.com is part of Ladbrokes Limited. Betting with Ladbrokes.com whether it be poker, betting or casino games is very simple. They’ve designed it to make finding your way around easy and quick, and to provide you with help when you need it. Look out for the "Bet Help" link which gives you simple instructions on how to complete a bet, specific to the page you're on. They also claim that they’ll be adding more features to make betting easier.
Our Overview
Our Ladbrokes Poker review shows you that this is one poker room that players should not overlook. First off the welcome to bonus is a whopping £250 which you can claim by using the link at the bottom of the review page. This allows you to get right into the game with some free cash to play with. The poker software on Ladbrokes is basic but nice and simple to get you started so you won’t have any difficulty, but should you need to contact someone, their customer support is excellent. The graphics are decent and the colour scheme is easy on the eye for playing hours on end. Payment methods that are available with Ladbrokes Poker are Mastercard, Visa, NETeller, Solo, Switch, Maestro, Bank Transfer and Check.
My first impression is that the software looks and feels a little dated. It functions well enough and I can't really complain about the speed of loading the lobby, tables or the card dealing, but there is a dull appearance about the poker room on the whole, it's all very 'early 2000’s' for me. However, this is microgaming software and Ladbrokes cannot be held to blame for that.
That said, the latest software upgrade at Ladbrokes has improved things slightly. The tables are much clearer, set upon a wooden floor, giving the feel of an old western poker movie, certainly much cooler than it used to look. Of course, many players aren't looking for the latest in poker software graphics and Ladbrokes does contain a number of features which I enjoy. The banking in particular is smoothly run, with deposit limits in place as default. Ladbrokes appear to want to take care of their players.
Some other nice little touches include the note taking facility, which for me is a must if you are to play regularly at one poker room and the server connection status, this bar moves from red to green if your connection is good or bad (green being the best) This is very helpful if you, like everybody else I suspect, don't like to be timed out during a hand.
In conclusion I would recommend Ladbrokes to the majority of players. Bonuses aren't a regular occurrence here, but new players will most likely pick up a good first deposit deal. Satellite tournament promotions are superb and there is no end of ring game action.
The rake at Ladbrokes is roughly the industry average. Although in lower limit games the rake is capped at $1.5 whereas most sites cap it at $1. Tournament rake is the standard – 20 percent at $5 buy-in and 10 percent for all the rest.
Ladbrokes is currently based in the UK based and has been an established gambling company since 1886. Ladbrokes is known as one of the longest established, honest and most trustworthy casino brands in the UK, with more than 2000 betting shops in the country.
In addition to their land based operations, Ladbrokes is also very well known to the internet gambling industry, with more than 2 million registered users to date. Ladbrokes is a part of the Prima Poker Network; however, unlike most members of the Prima Poker Network, Ladbrokes does not share their software or player base with other internet poker sites.
Other good features include: Turbo tables with a max response time of 10 seconds ensures the play is fast.
They have 10 seat and 6 seat tournaments available at different times.
Private tournaments are available in the private section.
Its easy to check rakes hands at the click of the mouse.
You check game stats in the same window as the tables you are at, including flop-seen percentages etc.
The support is very good, I got an e-mail response within 8 hours and my telephone call was answered within 2 mins.
