With the traditional summer holiday season beginning in earnest tomorrow Paddy Power are taking bets on what will cost troubled airline British Airways the most over the coming three months - industrial action or volcanic ash.
As the Icelandic volcano appears to have settled down for now, Paddy Power make industrial action their odds-on 4/6 favourite to cause the most financial damage over the Summer for Willie Walsh’s airline with volcanic ash available at longer odds of 11/10.
Paddy Power said, “This is an interesting bet and, to be honest, we could easily have it the wrong the way around. For instance if Iceland’s Katla volcano decides to follow in the footsteps of her smaller sister, our odds of 11/10 could well be the bet of the summer!”
