James Camerons Avatar leads the way at this years British Academy Film Awards after receiving a whopping nine nominations.

The epic blockbuster which cost over $300m to make is the 8/13 favourite with Paddy Power to win Best Picture while Director James Cameron is the 11/10 favourite to win Best Director. The odds on the 3-D smash scooping both major awards are just 6/4 with Paddy Power.

In other categories, Paddy Power make Jeff Bridges their 8/11 favourite over George Clooney in the Best Actor category and Golden Globe winner Meryl Streep their 10/11 tip to win Best Actress. Irish actress Saoirse Ronan has also been nominated in the Best Actress category with Paddy Power making her 10/1 to win the BAFTA.

Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power warned:

If any movie stands out this year it has got to be Avatar. Not only is it well on its way to sinking The Titanic by becoming the highest grossing movie of all time but it already has two major Golden Globes under its belt.
