Europes leading ticket marketplace, has teamed up with Irelands biggest bookmaker Paddy Power and has announced that if Brian O’Driscoll scores a hat trick against France during the Six Nations tie at the Stade de France, all fans who bought their tickets on viagogo January 1st 2010 onwards will receive a full refund.

With Ireland unbeaten in 2009 and tipped to win the tournament this year, viagogo has seen unprecedented demand for the tie at the Stade de France on February 13th. In 2000, early in his international career O’Driscoll scored a hat trick against the French and viagogo is backing the Dubliner to repeat the feat ten years on.

Speculation continues to surround the Irishman’s international future, and after racking up 100 Test caps, this February’s Six Nations tournament is predicted by many to be O’Driscoll’s last. However, O’Driscoll is far from past his best after an exceptional 2009 saw him claim the Player of the Six Nations Championship award which was followed by a nomination for the International Rugby Board player of the year. If next month’s tournament is to be O’Driscoll’s last you certainly wouldn’t bet against the man from Clontarf going out with a bang.

Ed Parkinson, viagogo UK director, said:

With Brian O’Driscoll in the Irish backs there is a very real chance that viagogo customers could see their ticket money refunded. O’Driscoll is one of few players capable of producing a hat-trick of tries and should he do so, it would be a double celebration for Irish fans: they not only get to be part of the action on the day itself but if they get their money back, they might well be able to stand an extra round in the pub to celebrate!

Last time these sides met the Irish edged out the French in a pulsating encounter at Croke Park. This time around, the Irishmen have to travel to the Stade to France as they bid to conquer on French soil. The match is billed as one of the headline fixtures of this winters tournament and in Brian O’Driscoll the Irish have a man with an appetite for the big occasion. For those fans who bought their tickets on viagogo, this encounter carries an added edge.
