Bookmaker anticipating bum rush on turner prize betting
Bookmaker Paddy Power Sports is offering 2/1 that a workmans bare bottom wins this years Turner Prize – with artist Enrico David among the short-listed names for the award.
However it is the Birmingham artist Roger Hiorns who has been the first to ‘turn heads, having been installed as the 11/10 favourite with Bookmaker Paddy Power Sports to win this years prize, the UKs most recognised art award.
Hiorns, whose works include a fine dust created from a melted down passenger jet engine is followed by Italian born artist Enrico David at 2/1. The remaining shortlisted artists include Lucy Skaer at 11/4 and Richard Wright at 8/1.
Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power Sports said:
Its quite difficult for us to decide on the favourites to win the Turner Prize but unless we see a bum rush of betting for Enrico David our shrewder punters are so far suggesting Roger Hiorns is the man to beat.
The winner of this years Turner Prize and £25,000 prize money will be announced during a live Channel 4 broadcast on December 7.
